Cinque Terre

Craco

da Wikipedia: Craco (Graculum in latino) è un comune italiano di 762 abitanti della provincia di Matera in Basilicata. Il centro storico, negli anni sessanta, ha conosciuto un'evacuazione che lo ha reso una vera e propria città fantasma. Tuttavia, questo fenomeno ha contribuito a rendere particolare l'abitato di Craco, che per tale caratteristica è diventato una meta turistica ed un set cinematografico per vari film.

About 40 kilometres (25 mi) inland from the Gulf of Taranto at the instep of the “boot” of Italy. It is typical of the hill towns of the region with mildly undulating shapes and the lands surrounding it sown with wheat. It was abandoned in 1963 due to recurring earthquakes.

Protagonista di questa prima monografia filmata è il Gabbiano reale, un animale molto familiare che, a differenza di quanto si potrebbe pensare, non frequenta solo le zone umide ma anche le campagne e le discariche dove si nutre di uova e giovani di altri vertebrati, di insetti, ratti e rifiuti. Nonostante queste sue abitudini non proprio eleganti, è impossibile rimanere insensibili alla sua bellezza e allo sguardo fiero degli adulti.

The leading actor of this first video monograph is the Yellow-legged Gull, a well-known species common not only in wetlands but also in meadows, fields and rubbish dump where he feeds on eggs and youngs of other vertabrates, insects, mice, rats and refuse. Despite this coarse behaviour, it's impossible don't admire its beauty and the proud look of adults.

Prati, rocce e ghiacciai

Foto scattata nell'estate del 2009 dalla strada che sale al Flüelapass in Svizzera. Questo magnifico panorama racchiude in sè una storia prodigiosa: quella dell'acqua che si trasforma dallo stato gassoso (le nubi) a quello solido (neve e ghiaccio) e, infine, allo stato liquido (il torrente che diverrà fiume e sfocerà nel mare); quello dell'acqua che, impalpabile, scava le montagne e modella i paesaggi.

Shot taken in the summer 2009 from the road to Flüelapass in Switzerland. This magnificent view hides a wonderful story: the water always turns from a gas (the clouds) into a solid (snow and ice) and, finally, into a fluid (streams and rivers that will flow into the sea); the intangible water erodes mountains and shapes landscapes like this one.
